The previous nitrogen Oxygen Sensor was only used to measure the value of NOx at the outlet. Now, two nitrogen oxygen sensors are configured to detect the NOx values at the inlet and outlet of the aftertreatment tank. It communicates with the ECU through the body bus, and there is also a temperature control system, diagnostic system, and control system inside the Nox Sensor assembly. The sensor monitors its own operation and reports any faults to the ECU through the body CAN bus. The entire NOx sensor consists of a sensor probe, control module, connecting plug, and connecting cable.

Working process: The nitrogen oxygen sensor transmits the NOx value in the exhaust gas to the ECU in real time after normal operation. The ECU does not determine whether the exhaust is qualified by monitoring the real-time NOx value, but by detecting the NOx value once per exhaust cycle to determine whether it exceeds the standard.
The entire work process is like this. After the engine starts, the nitrogen oxygen sensor heats the probe to 100 degrees Celsius (dew point temperature) and waits for the ECU's detection command. The ECU sends a detection command to the nitrogen oxygen sensor once per exhaust cycle based on the temperature signal from the exhaust temperature sensor (greater than 120 degrees Celsius). After receiving the command, the nitrogen oxygen sensor continues to heat the probe, and the zirconia in the probe is measured at high temperature. The nitrogen oxygen content is calculated by the control module.
